Killed her boyfriend – with a stab to the heart

It was the night before July 4 of this summer that a fight broke out between a 20-year-old woman and her boyfriend a few years older in an apartment in Solna.

Just before 3 o’clock he called SOS Alarm and said:

– He’s dead, he’s dead.

– He attacked me.

SOS: Yes, did someone attack you?

– Yeah, I stabbed him and now he’s dead.

When the police and ambulance arrived, the man was dead. He had received a stab in the heart and his life could not be saved.

Outside the apartment, in a backyard, there was a bloody cheese knife, which the woman had thrown out the window.

She and her boyfriend had been together for just over a year and, according to witnesses, it was destructive at times. The woman herself claims that the boyfriend had “aggression problems” and told police that they were questioning him about a violent fight that night:

– He grabbed me by the neck, pushed me down and strangled me. The blackness before my eyes. When I woke up I instinctively grabbed the knife and stabbed, pulled the knife out and threw myself away from him.

I had fought before

According to the woman, it was the couple’s fourth big fight. She says in police questioning that her boyfriend’s violence “escalated” each time, and has claimed he acted in self-defense:

– I felt that I had not done it, I would have, I would have died myself.

The woman has denied the crime.

Prosecutor Josefina Yalo, however, said she intentionally killed and charged her with murder.

District court rules murder

The Solna District Court now writes in its ruling that it was the 20-year-old woman who started the fight that night, “through her aggressive actions.” According to the district court, the woman also lied about what happened at the home, and the prosecutor is believed to have denied that she acted in self-defense.

The court writes:

“The district court condemns (the woman) for having killed (the boyfriend) with the alleged intention of indifference. The court makes a different assessment than the prosecutor and classifies the act as homicide. “

The woman is sentenced to eight years in prison. It will also pay just over SEK 300,000 in damages.
