The bus bombing alarm occurred at 6 a.m. on Monday. Police claim that two windows on the bus were broken.
– You have a bus driver who perceives you as being shot at the bus. Patrols at the scene can establish damages indicating that some type of firearm was used against the bus, says Daniel Hallstensson, commander of the Borås police station.
No one was injured, but there were several passengers on board when the bus was shot down.
According to information from Aftonbladet, the bus has received shots from a shotgun.
“Of course I take this very seriously”
Ellen Pileblad from the Västtrafik press service says the bus was out of service after the incident. Other trips were not affected.
– Regarding the incident itself, I can refer to the police press service as the police will investigate the incident, it says and continues:
– Of course we take this very seriously.
The bus in question belongs to Nobina, where Robin Gillberg is traffic director in Borås.
– I think it is very sad that you go by public transport, we make a social benefit, we take children to school and workers to workplaces. It is very boring.
Also, he says the bus driver is shocked after the incident, but has taken over.
– You have received support from the immediate manager and will have more conversations to deal with what happened.
The technical exam is complete
During the morning, a large police operation was underway in Borås due to the incident.
– There is an ongoing effort on the site and a search effort is underway. There are no injuries, only material damage to the bus, says Daniel Hallstensson.
There is no person arrested in the case under investigation as attempted murder or felony with weapons.
The bus was blocked for a technical inspection that was completed at 09:30 on Monday morning.
– The blockade was lifted, says Jenny Widén, spokeswoman for the police in the West region.
The police want to contact the passengers who were on board, they were sent from the scene on another bus after the incident.
