Police launched a preliminary investigation into the murder after the man was found dead in Skärholmen, south of Stockholm, overnight until Sunday. He was found dead in an outdoor area.
So far, the police have had very little information and say it is a “serious crime”.
According to information from Expressen, the victim is a criminally known man. He is part of the inner circle of a large gang in Stockholm and describes himself as a form of gang leader. In recent years, the gang has been embroiled in several bloody conflicts with various killings and explosions.
The 18-year-old is also linked to a high-profile murder of another gang leader earlier this year. The police suspicion at the time was that it was an internal conflict.
Shooting with multiple shots
The night before Sunday he was shot, according to information from Expressen, with several shots. No one has been arrested.
The now-dead gang leader has been involved in various crimes and lives in a house called SiS. Recently, in September, he requested to be transferred from the closed youth home to an open variant.
That request was rejected because there are still reasons for the 18-year-old to be cared for in a “closed unit.”
