November 26, 2016 was the last time Linköping won three points at home against Frölunda, and FHC failed to break that suite in tonight’s meeting.
Frölunda opened with force
Two minutes and 54 seconds passed when Johan Sundström made the league-leading Frölunda 1-0. And just over a minute later, team captain Joel Lundqvist would also rise to 2-0.
There was a change of scenery in the second period. Linköping won the shots with 15-8 and also a goal from the young Nikola Pasic made it 1-2.
– Soon we will hang on another, said the LHC striker in C More during the period break.
“Nasty pictures”
In the third period, Linköping’s Hampus Larsson was led on the ice after colliding with Lucas Raymond and sliding straight to the basket.
– Unpleasant images, exclaimed Jörgen Larsson, commentator for C More.
Linköping pushed for a reduction, but Frölunda held on and eventually won 3-1.
“An incredibly fun team to manage”
– I think Linköping is doing well, I understood that today would be difficult. “I think we worked hard, but the right sharpness today doesn’t exist,” says Frölunda’s coach Roger Rönnberg and continues.
– Our minimum level is very high, we have four channels that can decide matches. An incredibly fun team to lead.
