Jean-Marc Chabloz is the new shooting coach of the Swedish biathlon team and the one who has been with the team of former long-time star Stina Nilsson throughout the preseason.
After Nilsson’s major sport change this spring, the duo have enjoyed more shots than anyone.
– We are very happy that you have managed to film so much. It turned out to be a great base, says Chabloz.
Was it exceptionally a lot?
– Yes, that was it. Really. But she controlled it herself and it is not possible to do it with everyone. You have to be the right type to do that and she was.

Nilsson’s design achieved A certain thorn in the side of an elbow injury this summer, which according to the coach, however, had the positive effect that the 27-year-old was able to train more on the difficult standing shot than on the lying shot.
Now the mass training is complete. On Saturday, Stina Nilsson will debut in a biathlon context in the sprint of the Swedish premiere in Idre.
– Now you have to work with stability. It takes time and is not done overnight.

Nilsson won’t come compete in the World Cup before the New Year, maybe not even before the World Cup in February, says Chabloz. Instead, smaller powers apply.
What can you polish in terms of shooting during the season?
– The important thing for her is that she keep her plan. He has been practicing speed shooting since March. She has that speed today. She may be able to get a little closer, a little closer but we can’t conjure, says Chabloz.
– It is not possible to dream of shooting like Hanna (Öberg). But sometimes they drag her at that rate.
Looking ahead to the 2022 Olympic year, the coach adds:
– She can afford to shoot a little slower this year, but next year is important, so we can fine-tune it a bit more.
On Saturday, Stina Nilsson starts her first biathlon competition.

The German of the national team Head coach Johannes Lukas says his new star is doing well in terms of development. Especially compared to Germany’s Denise Herrmann, who made the same change in 2016 and then became world champion in 2019.
– I know what it was like with Denise at first, and then we got along really well, says Lukas.
Can you learn something about how the Germans worked?
– I have an idea of that, but you can’t just copy how they did it, it’s about the talent you have. I think Stina is talented. Now you just need time and that’s why you need to compete, compete, compete.
