A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Karlsby, on the outskirts of Motala. Stock Photography.
A man in his 35s was subjected to an assassination attempt in Karlsby, north of Motala, on Thursday night.
The man himself alerted the police at 11:30 p.m. When the patrol arrived at the scene, they saw that he was bleeding from a wound and took him to the hospital.
Just hours later, a man in his 50s was arrested, who has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
– The man is well known to the police. He has been convicted of various crimes, but not for this dignity, says Thomas Agnevik, press spokesman for the police.
Police cannot yet answer whether the crime occurred indoors or outdoors, but claim an area in Karlsby has been cordoned off.
– There are some dwellings there, but this is in the countryside, so it is not a densely populated area, says Thomas Agnevik.
During the day a forensic investigation will be carried out and the area will be documented with drones. No murder weapon has yet been found, according to police.
