Joe Biden must have access to daily intelligence information. It requires a growing number of Republican senators, an implicit recognition that the Democrat will be crowned the winner of the US presidential election.
President Donald Trump does not want to admit defeat and has so far also refused to allow Biden access to security information. The president of the United States receives a daily intelligence update, to keep up with the world situation.
It is customary for an incoming president to participate in this as well, and now the pressure is mounting on Trump to allow it.
Republican James Lankford, who heads the Senate Ethics Committee, earlier this week gave Trump until Friday to concede. And now more and more Republican senators are joining, including John Cornyn, Ron Johnson, Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham.
– Yes, I think it should, Graham, known as one of the most powerful Trump loyalists, responded to CNN’s question about whether Biden should get the information.
Cornyn doesn’t want to feel that the lawsuit signifies any recognition of Biden’s election victory.
– I do not see it as a high risk proposal, it is simply part of the transition period. And if he (Biden) wins in the end, they should have a chance to start at full speed, the senator told reporters in Congress.
