The Faro prosecutor’s office in Albufeira affirms that the murder occurred on November 3. The Swede, who is 40 years old, is then suspected of having killed his wife, also 40, with a severe blow to the head.

The body showed various signs of violence on the face and skull. There are also suspicions that the victim has been subjected to violence on previous occasions, writes the Portuguese Algarve Primeiro.

The man and woman are said to have lived in Albufeira for some time. The city is located in the western part of the tourist paradise of the Algarve coast in southern Portugal.

Suspected of having lived with the body

Prosecutors believe the suspect lived with the woman’s body in the home for two days after the murder, after which he was arrested. You should only have left home to drink alcohol at nearby restaurants, writes the local Journal I newspaper.

The Swede was questioned by prosecutors on Wednesday. Subsequently, the decision was made that he should be arrested, on suspicion of murder and domestic violence.

There are believed to be “strong indications” that he killed the woman.
