Sweden had the best chance in the match after just under 20 minutes played. Mattias Svanberg gave him a goal on a layup, tried to hit with his right and finished off with his left awkwardly.
– That wasn’t too bad, says C More commentator Lasse Granqvist.
The Danes’ best chance came with just under ten minutes to go in the first half. Christian Eriksen found Kasper Dolberg with a pole, but the Dane’s nod looked just over a meter from Kristoffer Nordfeldt’s pole.
By far the best chance of the match was given to Denmark at the start of the second half. After a corner kick – and a little pinball – the ball landed in front of Jonas Wind’s feet, who cut directly from close range. But Nordfeldt responded with a nice parade.
– Cannon rescue, says Lasse Granqvist.
Soon after, Wind would have another chance.
A Danish corner looked for a Wind at the far post who couldn’t help but roll 1-0 into the open area.
With a quarter of an hour to play, the Danes extended their lead. After a throw-in down the left wing, Denmark passed over the Swedish defense, where the ball finally found its way to an unmarked Alexander Bah inside the penalty area. Bah? They easily put the ball into the goal and it was 2-0 Denmark. The goal was also Bah’s first in the Danish national team uniform, in his first international match.
Soon after, Sweden was on the verge of downsizing when substitute Sebastian Larsson took over the Swedish free kick which was conceded a bit outside the penalty area. But Oliver Christensen in the Danish goal put a hand on the ball, before it took the crossbar and the post. Close.
There were no more goals, but the match ended 2-0 against Denmark.
– I don’t see any advantage to this performance, says C More expert Hasse Backe.
