Customs was ready when the couple got out of their car from the German ferry in mid-May. During the spring, the French police had managed to crack the codes of the communication tool Encrochat, to which the 43-year-old man in the car had access.
Now the man is sentenced who was sitting in a passenger seat in the van, by the Gothenburg District Court to ten years in prison for extremely serious drug trafficking, felony drug offenses and felony firearms. The driver receives five years in prison, writes Göteborgs-Posten.
The couple had purchased the amphetamine oil from a Dutch supplier. The drug, in refined form, would have been worth almost ten million crowns on the street.
Man has miracles The trial claimed that he had been ordered to collect a couple of barrels of disinfectant for use at Sahlgrenska Hospital. But the court did not believe it.
Another man in the mix receives four years in prison and ten years of deportation. A fourth person is cleared of suspicions.
