Ten can die after another wolf attack in Skåne

Already last weekend, a sheep and another were injured in connection with a wolf attack in Knutstorp on the outskirts of Tyringe. On Tuesday, the time came again, this time at Ravlunda in Österlen.

In all, ten sheep were attacked. Four of the animals died and the rest were injured.

Hunting suspected repeat offender

The County Administrative Board was on the scene during the cold blooded wolf attack. Partly to make sure it really was a wolf behind the attack.

Partly to take DNA samples.

– We await clear answers to both tests, so that we can clarify whether it is the same individual who is behind the attacks. It’s not unlikely, but it could also be two different people, says Mikael Bengtsson, wildlife management officer at the county administrative board, in a press release.

The County Board of Administration also wants to know if it is now the same wolf that was unleashed in September in the border area between Skåne and Kronoberg, and among other things, the sick carried out several attacks.

The county administrative board has already allowed protective hunting after numerous wolf attacks.

– At the same time, we know that a wolf dog was killed when she was hit by a car in the Jönköping area the other day, in areas where Tönsentiken had previously attacked. We also get the answer to that analysis these days, says Mikael Bengtsson.
