It is now completely clear with the local restrictions in Kalmar County.

The reason is that the spread of infection is increasing considerably and more people are being cared for in hospitals.

– This is a serious development that we must limit in every way, says infection control doctor Lisa Labbé Sandelin.

As previously reported by Barometern-OT, local restrictions will be introduced for Kalmar County. “The purpose is to further reduce congestion and the number of contacts between people,” writes the Swedish Public Health Agency on its website. Norrbotten County and Västerbotten County are also included in the stricter councils.

The decision was made in consultation between the Swedish Public Health Agency, infection control physicians and the Kalmar County Administrative Council.

Now it is also clear that the audience limit is again limited to 50 people in public meetings.

– In recent weeks, we have seen a rapid and sharp increase in people testing positive for covid-19. Now we are also beginning to see a further spread of the infection in health and care, as well as an increase in the number of people needing hospital care. This is a serious development that we must limit in every way, says infection control doctor Lisa Labbé Sandelin.

Among other things, the restrictions mean: “Refrain from staying in closed environments such as stores, shopping malls, museums, libraries, bathrooms and gyms. Visits can be made to, for example, supermarkets and pharmacies, ”writes the Swedish Public Health Agency.

“Refrain from participating, for example, in meetings, concerts, performances, sports training, matches and competitions. However, this does not apply to sports training for children and youth born in 2005 or after. “

If possible, avoid having physical contact with people other than those you live with. This means, among other things, the deterrence of organizing or participating in a party or similar social gathering. Certain types of activities should also be avoided if they cannot be carried out without physical distance from others, such as contact sports or health or beauty care that are not medically justified. “

Regarding workplaces, the Swedish Public Health Agency writes:

Businesses and employers should take steps so that everyone can follow the general advice above. Employer actions may include encouraging staff to work from home, offering greater opportunities to work from home, and postponing business trips, conferences, and other physical meetings. Other companies can minimize the number of visitors at the same time, adjust opening hours and offer digital options. “

The decision is valid until December 8, 2020, but can be extended.
