C More extends its agreement with the Swedish Hockey League and acquires the league’s television rights until 2030.

– We are very proud of the confidence to manage the best and most appreciated league in Sweden for another ten years, says Casten Almqvist, CEO of TV4 Media.

The news comes at the right time for SHL, which is currently hard hit by the corona pandemic. So far, the league has had to postpone 15 games due to the spread of the infection in several different SHL clubs.

– We are excited to expand the collaboration with C More and continue to provide first-class entertainment both in the arena and on the TV couch. C More has been an important partner for SHL and it is extremely positive to be able to extend the agreement even further during these difficult times, says Jenny Silfverstrand, CEO of SHL.

It also ensures allsvenskan hockey

The parties signed an agreement four years ago that runs through the 2023/2024 season and when the new agreement is ready, it means that C More will show all SHL matches for almost a decade.

In addition to the rights to SHL, C More is also the owner of the rights to allsvenskan hockey until the 2025/2026 season, even that agreement was written four years ago. However, the new agreement only applies to an extension of SHL’s rights.

– SHL is strongly associated with C More and it is in these almost dizzying contexts that with such a long agreement we can consolidate our position as the home of Swedish hockey for another decade. Through this agreement, we continue our unique partnership to develop the first-class international SHL experience both on site and via screen, says Casten Almqvist, CEO of TV4 Media.
