Biden’s success in Georgia is considered a credit to Stacey Abram

Stacey Abrams has literally written the manual on how Democrats will win elections in Georgia. In the 16-page “Abrams Handbook: Strategy and the Road to Profits for 2020,” he has listed data on promising districts and populations, as well as strategies to attract potential voters to the polls and win over Republicans critical of Trump.

Stacey Abrams has also, through her Fair Fight organization, worked against the many complicated rules surrounding voting in American elections. The organization was founded after the 2018 interim elections, in which Stacey Abrams believes that the so-called voter repression played a crucial role in the outcome of the elections. Ahead of this year’s presidential election, Fair Fight has helped 800,000 first-time voters to register.

Voter oppression means technicalities and complicated laws prevent certain groups, especially the socioeconomically disadvantaged, from voting. Of the 800,000 first-time voters Fair Fight helped, 45 percent are under the age of 30 and 49 percent are of non-white ethnicity, reports NPR’s Stacey Abrams.

– Voter oppression exists when voters are discouraged or prevented from voting. To risk losing your job because you have to queue for seven hours, or lose time that you can spend with your children. It is not a sign of the enthusiasm of the people, but of the incompetence of the authorities, Stacey Abrams told NBC.

In his work, Abrams, 47, has captured a crucial development that is taking place in Georgia and several other southern states: Demographics are changing and the voter base with it. As more and more people from northern Democratic states move to Georgia and African Americans, Hispanics and people of Asian descent form a growing portion of the population, Democrats are seeing their choice increases. Minority groups vote more democratically.

Stacey Abram’s work it has been hailed as a democratic act by organizations, politicians and journalists. Within the Democratic Party, his work is seen as one of the reasons Joe Biden has done so well in Georgia.

Wisconsin Democratic President Ben Wikler also sees Joe Biden’s win in Wisconsin as a credit to Stacey Abram.

“Stacey and her team were also important in changing Wisconsin. And all the other wave master states,” writes Ben Wikler on Twitter.

Voter turnout in the 2020 presidential elections it is the highest in 120 years. This despite the fact that Republicans in several southern states have pushed controversial laws that further complicate voting.

Within the Democratic Party, Stacey Abrams has fought hard to make Georgia one of the most important statesmen.

– In 2019 I met all the main candidates for the presidency and had two messages. Number one: Voter oppression really exists and is one of the reasons we are losing across the country, number two: Georgia is a state we can win and it would be a failure to ignore it. Fortunately, both of my messages got through, Stacey Abrams tells Politico.

Georgia has voted Republican in eight of the last nine presidential elections. The trend has led the state to be classified as a hopeless case for Democrats. The consequence will be that the campaign is reduced and that the focus is on more promising partnerships.

In the 2018 gubernatorial election, Stacey Abrams lost by just 1.4 percentage points to her Republican opponent. Since then, her political career has taken off: when Joe Biden was elected vice president, she was one of the possible candidates and she herself has indicated that she wants to run in future presidential elections.
