During the chaos of the chaotic vote in the United States, the Facebook group “Stop the steal” was started, which referred to the accusations of Donald Trump about the supposed electoral fraud of the Democrats. In one day, the group gained more than 350,000 members. But as of Friday it was closed due to the spread of misinformation about the elections, writes The Gaurdian.
After the group was closed, new ones with similar names were started. A group of the same name, “Stop the steal”, quickly managed to obtain more than 60,000 members. But after a day, the administrators changed the group’s name to “Gay Communists for Socialism,” without explanation.
Trump supporters quickly began to speculate what had happened.
Who changed the name of this group? Have we been hacked? Asked a confused group member.

Created the group to cheat
Administrators tell The Gaurdian that the group was created to “conspire” with conservative supporters of Donald Trump.
– We had no idea that it would take so much speed and attract so many ignorant people when we made the switch, says a person behind the group to the British newspaper.
Another administrator continued to mislead unsuspecting members by writing that it was Facebook who was behind the name change. Something that many saw as a reasonable explanation and meant that the company wants to censor Donald Trump fans.
“Still the same members, the same posts, we just have to hide because free speech is not a thing on Facebook,” wrote one.
On Saturday, the group was pulled after reporting thousands of times.
