Parts of central Trångsund are cordoned off after an explosion that occurred shortly after 0130 on Saturday morning.
The rescue service is on site with three stations and pump technicians are on their way to the scene. No fires should have broken out and now they are waiting for the police bomb technicians.
“Something has affected a door and windows in the building and in the building opposite,” says Anders Hägglund, operations manager for the Södertörn fire service.
It is not yet clear whether the explosion was an accident or not, according to police.
Evacuated accommodation
Roadblocks have been extended after the blast and residents are being evacuated from the apartments, according to the Expressen photographer at the scene.
– The residential building is cordoned off awaiting the arrival of pump technicians to ensure that nothing is left on the site. Something has exploded and they have to make an assessment of how safe it is to enter the property, says Asp.
– It’s something that has exploded, we still don’t know what it is, says Peter Asp from the Stockholm Police.
– At the moment, there does not appear to be any casualties that we have found. We are there together with the rescue service, he continues.

My partner and I fell asleep and woke up to a huge bang. The windows shook. It sounded so loud that you flew out of bed, he says and continues:
– It is fully operational and the police have blocked the entire housing circuit.
