Mattias Krantz was the leader of the group of the Swedish Democrats in the municipality of Mark and is still a member of the municipal board, but has not attended any meetings since he was notified of the suspicions of several cases of sexual harassment.
The district court convicted him, against his refusal, on four counts of sexual harassment. The Court of Appeal is now following the same line.
But it reduces the penalty a bit.
Mattias Krantz had not read the verdict himself on Thursday afternoon and did not want to comment on its content, but confirmed that he had presented a certificate from the party’s district chairman, which means that he cannot continue to represent the Swedish Democrats in the judgment.
Receive a suspended sentence
Mattias Krantz has stated that the accusations are based on internal conflicts in the party and they have always denied any wrongdoing.
He is now sentenced to a suspended sentence and a 60-day fine.
When asked if he can imagine himself sitting on his municipal assignments without representing the Swedish Democrats, that is, as a supposed “political savage”, Mattias Krantz replies:
– No, I still have a responsibility. Although the people have voted for me, they have voted for the party. I do not intend to sit as “wild”.
