Expert: “Extremely close to Biden”

The focus is on some crucial states in the United States, where votes in the country’s presidential elections still count. However, the calculations of how many electoral votes each candidate obtained vary between different American media.

Overall, the voting process was better than feared, according to Cobb. For example, there was no shortage of poll workers, as some noted.

– We had an extraordinary turnout in the United States, one of the highest since 1900. We were warned of landslides, disasters, foreign interference and long lines. We had queues, but there were no catastrophic events that prevented large numbers of people from voting, he says.

He also says that the broad support for Trump was also greater than expected. From the Republican side, voices are now being raised to challenge any outcome before the Supreme Court.

– I think the result will settle. Because if it is not a clear violation of the law or a violation of the constitution, then the courts do not want to change the elections. They want to make sure that there are rules, but they don’t want to change the will of the people. The only time it might matter is if there is an extremely even recalculation situation, in a state that decides the choice, says and continues:

– But if the state is irrelevant and the margins are sufficient, a recalculation that changes the result will not be achieved. If you look at Wisconsin, if there is a difference of 20,000 votes, a recalculation will not change that, it is basically impossible, Cobb says.

TT: Do you see any risk of concern now?

– There is a lot of anxiety, a lot of tension and a lot of destructive dialogue, not even dialogue, a lot of destructive words. You can add fuel to the fire, as Trump does, or try to disarm it. And if Trump incites it, it worries me. I think the challenge going forward will be to disarm, calm and create spaces for people that do not lead to violence, he says.

It is even in the congressional elections, and there will be no large majorities in either chamber, which will make it difficult for the president, whoever he is.
