In the run-up to the election, Democrats sought to expand their majority in the House of Representatives. But the result was not what they expected, USA Today reports.
Democrats retain power in the House of Representatives, but Republicans have taken more seats than previously thought. Republican leaders now say it could cost President and Democrat Nancy Pelosi her job.
“Some who did not vote”
– I mean, Nancy Pelosi doesn’t even have a majority where she can be elected president again. Who would have guessed that it would be possible for Nancy Pelosi not to become president ?, Republican Tom Emmer, chairman of the Republican Committee of the National Convention, tells Fox News.
Republican leader Kevin McCarthy believes that the slim majority of Democrats could cause problems for Nancy Pelosi to be reelected as president and predicts that it may be difficult for Democrats to meet their agenda.
“I know there were some who didn’t vote for her last time,” Kevin McCarthy told Fox News.
