Vote counting takes longer than usual because many vote by mail. Protests have now broken out in various parts of the country.

In Detroit, the Michigan state capital, there have been reports of riots around polling stations. This after Donald Trump’s campaign demanded that the vote counting stop.

Protests in New York and Philadelphia

At the same time, counter-protests have been reported in Philadelphia and New York. Instead, the message is there: “Count every vote.”

On Election Day, hundreds of protesters from both camps gathered outside the White House in the capital, Washington DC. Some of the protesters danced and others prayed.
