Västmanland region goes up in personal mode

– This in itself should not be understood as a sign of an impending crisis, rather it is a way to increase focus during a period where we see partly an increase in infection in the county and also maintain it through the end of the year with the Christmas and New Year holidays says Håkan Wittgren, Director of Health and Medical Services, Västmanland Region.

On Wednesday, Region Västmanland announced that they will go into personal mode, giving their organization more flexibility, but also feeling well equipped for a potentially large influx of patients needing hospital care.

More equipped now

These include an increase in the number of facilities at the infection clinic, training efforts have been undertaken by staff, and large stocks of equipment have accumulated. The region writes in a press release that currently care can handle more than 40 patients who are treated for covid-19 as part of regular activities.

– I want to urge the people of Västmanland to fully follow the recommendations and continue to seek care. As long as we all do what we are supposed to do, we can manage to have an infection in society without overloading medical care, says Håkan Wittgren.
