Just before 07:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a police operation was underway at Partille station after police were alerted about a threatening man on a train.
– The train will stop until we stop it, says Peter Adlersson, press spokesman for the police in the West Region.
A witness tells GP that the police were armed with reinforcement weapons.
– We have established some kind of contact, but we don’t know what he’s up to. He’s on the train and we’re out. We have to wait and see, says Peter Adlersson.
As a result, all train traffic between Gothenburg-Skövde-Stockholm was stopped. The Alingsås pendulum was also affected.
– We are in a meeting about this at the moment, says Jill Hasselqvist from the Västtrafik interruption service.
At 07:24 the stop was canceled.
– Now the trains are starting to roll slowly but surely, but surely there will be some departures canceled for a while and they will be replaced by a bus, says Jill Hasselqvist.
The man in question is said to have walked on the train and verbally threatened passengers and staff, according to police. In connection with this, the staff must have emptied the train cars while waiting for the police.
After a police operation, the man, about 45 years old, has been arrested.
– The police opened the doors of the train and were able to secure the man. He has been arrested for illegal threats, says Peter Adlersson.
