Maradona was hospitalized Monday for anemia and dehydration. Earlier Tuesday, her personal physician said her condition had improved.
However, later on Tuesday, local media reported that Maradona had suffered a brain hemorrhage and had to undergo surgery. The bleeding is a subdural hematoma and is not the same as a stroke. Often times the type of bleeding that Maradona now affects after a blow to the head.

Last Friday, Maradona, considered one of the best footballers of all time, celebrated his 60th birthday.
The Argentine has previously suffered two heart attacks and has also had liver problems.
