The advice applies above all that residents should avoid physical contact with people other than their own home. The tips also include workplaces and other activities.

– The environments we have chosen to target in the new city councils are where we see the new city councils having the greatest effect, says infection control doctor Maria Ryberg Mo.

– We need to act now to improve the odds for the rest of the fall. We see that the spread of infection that occurs takes place in different contexts. It is mainly in social activities, often linked to workplaces, but also in free time such as sports activities, says Maria Ryberg Mo.

Last week, 467 new cases of covid-19 were confirmed in Halland. This corresponds to an increase of 140 percent compared to the previous week. For some time now, the region has offered sampling to a greater extent, which has meant that the region has been able to confirm suspected corona cases to a greater extent.

– We have sampled more people than ever and we still have a large proportion of positive samples. That we have more cases now is not because we have a high level of sampling, but because we have a large proportion of positives, says infection control doctor Maria Löfgren.

Since November 1, organizers have had the opportunity to host events for seated audiences with a maximum number of 300. Halland is now reverting to the 50 limit as of November 4.

– This does not mean that we should strive to be 50 years old, but on the contrary, we must follow the general advice. We have experience this spring that this had a good effect. We understand that both the organizers and the public were looking forward to the public ceiling that the government had previously decided on, but our priority is to limit the spread of the infection, says County Councilor Jörgen Peters.

During the press conference, the region developed how municipalities affect companies and entrepreneurs:

The advice that applies is the following:

By physical contact is meant hanging out at a distance of less than 1 to 1.5 meters, especially if the contact lasts more than 15 minutes.
  • Refrain from staying indoors where congestion can occur.
  • Refrain from parties, weddings, and large funerals.
  • Employers must ensure that those who can work from home.
  • Refrain from staying indoors where people gather, such as stores, shopping malls, museums, libraries, bathrooms, and gyms. Visits to supermarkets and pharmacies can be made.
  • Everyone should refrain from participating, for example, in meetings, concerts, performances, sports training, matches and competitions. However, this does not apply to sports training for children and youth born in 2005 or later.
