TAMPA. Voting is in full swing in the key state of Florida.

Donald Trump must, in principle, win the state to remain in the White House, but in the polls he is extremely even.

– I feel a great responsibility because here we can decide the choice, says Crystal Scott, 37.

At the polling station on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Tampa, a steady stream of voters arrives in the morning. In the parking lot, Biden supporters shout through megaphones and wave “Black Lives Matter” flags. Not a single Trump sign is seen in this particular area.

Crystal Scott from Tampa just cast her vote and puts a sticker on her chest that says “I Voted.”

– I’m happy to be here and make my voice heard because I want to see a change in the world right now, he says.

Crystal doesn’t want to reveal who she voted for, but one of the most important issues for her is raising the minimum wage for workers. She is not sure which of the two Donald Trump and Joe Biden will affect Florida, because it is extremely even in opinion polls.

– I feel a great responsibility, because we are one of the key states that can decide who wins all elections, he says.

Whitney Robinson, 28

Voter Whitney Robinson, 28, is relieved that she was finally able to cast her vote. He’s been pushing it for too long, he says. She is one of the most desirable voters, an “undecided voter” who until recently was open to hearing what both candidates had to say.

– I’m more of a Democrat, but I wanted to see the debates to see what both candidates have to offer. Ultimately, Biden was voted for, because I think he has a better plan to deal with the corona pandemic, she says.

Joe Biden can win the presidential election, he believes. But he doesn’t think Democrats will win in his home state.

– Hate to say it, but actually I think Trump will win Florida, he says.

And Trump probably needs Florida’s 29 electoral votes for victory; otherwise it seems much more difficult for the incumbent president. It is a state that won four years ago, but voted for Obama before.

Florida polling stations are among the first to close in the United States, at 01 Swedish time. Nine million Floridians have already voted early, representing about 60 percent of all votes.

In Florida, poll workers have been handling mail-in ballots for weeks, so the vote count on Election Day will go smoothly. Increase the chances of an early election result on Election Night in Florida.

At the same time, opinion polls show that he is extremely even between Trump and Biden in state.

It could make the outcome of an election in the so-called “sunshine state” drag on and it can take days or weeks to decide the winner.

Roger Robinson, 58, who leaves the voting station in Tampa, says he also voted for Biden-Harris. He expects a blue democratic wave in the elections and now he will go home and continue the surveillance.

Because Vice President Biden worked well with President Barrack Obama, according to him, he believes that many will vote for Biden-Harris and that there will be a new government in the White House.

– I am confident that they can change things and control the pandemic so that the United States can get back on track. It has been a disaster since Trump blamed the virus on China and said he had nothing to do with it himself.
