In addition to the recently reported deaths, 20,018 new corona cases were also confirmed in the UK, where a total of 1,073,882 cases were confirmed, according to The Guardian.
The fact that the spread of the infection is increasing is also noticeable in UK hospitals, where 10,377 covid patients were treated on Tuesday. A substantial increase from the previous week, when 8,171 people needed care.
New restrictions on Thursday
This weekend, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that England will again impose a lockdown on Thursday to stop the spread of the infection. Which means, among other things, that restaurants and pubs must be closed.
“The virus is spreading faster than in the worst case scenario,” Boris Johnson said at the extraordinary press conference.
The new restrictions are expected to apply until December 2.
