In consultation with the compulsory school administration and Smittskydd Västra Götaland, the compulsory school board decided that a special compulsory school in Gothenburg will be closed immediately after the covid-19 outbreak.
In school, students move from preschool to ninth grade.
– The reason is that many staff members are at home with symptoms. There are 20 who are at home, of which seven have been diagnosed with covid, Anders Andrén, head of education and covid coordinator for elementary school operations in Gothenburg, tells GP.
Anders Andrén explains to the newspaper that the school carries out a special activity where it is not possible to appoint substitutes in the group of students, since a special competence of the staff is required.
“A vulnerable group of students”
– It is a vulnerable group of students, where many of them are in the risk group. But we do not have an established covid among the students, but it is the group of staff that is affected, he tells GP.
The school will be closed until November 11.
A preschool from Björkekärr performs a completely different assessment. They have recently received three confirmed cases among staff.
Came home from a trip abroad
The latest case was found Sunday after an employee returned from a trip abroad, says the preschool director. But closing some departments is not relevant at this time.
– We take it day by day and I work according to Västra Götaland guidelines and I work with infection tracking, says the director.
All parents with children in the two affected preschool departments, according to the director, have been informed.
However, not parents from other departments.
