Several heads of government condemned the terrorist attack in Vienna on Monday night. The most acute was French President Emmanuel Macron, who himself experienced two terrorist attacks in two weeks.
“We French share the shock and pain with the Austrian people who suffered an attack tonight in the heart of their capital, Vienna. After France, now another friendly mind has been attacked. This is our Europe. Our enemies need to know who they are dealing with. We will not make concessions, ”he writes on Twitter.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz called the shootings a “disgusting terrorist attack” and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven writes on Twitter that he condemns the terrorist attacks in Vienna.
“I strongly condemn the terrorist attacks in Vienna tonight, one of them near a synagogue. My thoughts go out to the victims and their families. We must all stand together against the attacks on our open society.”
