AIK won again: eighth in a row without losses

“They steal from us”

Simon Thern wanted to appear before the VAR or hire foreign judges.

Now comes the next step in the referee’s debate.

– Referees should be able to be punished as we are, says Astrit Selmani, who believes that Varberg was convicted by AIK.

It was in extra time that many AIK players probably put their hearts to their throats when Nabil Bahoui faced a duel with Gustaf Norlin that fell into the penalty area. But the judge acquitted and the punishment for Varberg failed.

Coach Joakim Persson wasn’t happy about that.

– As I understand it, it is a fairly clear punishment that they rob us. But we’re used to that at Varberg, he says.

Can you develop that “you’re used to”, Joakim?

– Absolutely not. So you have the entire judiciary behind you, so I don’t want that. I tried it once before and then it didn’t work that well.

“Punish the judges”

Varberg also called for a penalty early in the match when it was thought that Sotirios Papagiannopoulos grabbed the ball by hand. But that was the situation that ultimately bothered Persson the most.

– We didn’t get that penalty with us in the 93rd minute away against AIK, we didn’t get it, he says.

Astrit Selmani was terribly disappointed.

– It has been like this in every game that someone complains about the referees. It’s starting to get a little difficult. In Italy, you can turn off the judges. Either you do like in Italy or you let it be. I think you should start punishing everyone. We will be punished, then they will be punished.

“Do what Italy does!”

How?

– That they will be suspended, that they will miss the next game. You must put your foot on the ground when a referee makes three or four bad games. It is human to make mistakes, but they are heavy things that can get us out. We didn’t get a penalty, but AIK had taken it 10 out of 10. At the same time, we only have one shot on goal, which is a disaster. We are not doing enough on the field.

According to Selmani, Varberg’s players are treated completely differently compared to AIK’s.

– The way the judge talks to us and how he talks to them. It is a big difference. This is the case in almost all matches.

“They can say completely sick words”

What do you mean?

– I can’t even speak to the judge. But they can say completely sick words without anything happening. They have routine and experience, we are completely new. We barely have a budget to last at the Allsvenskan, so it’s a feat that we’re here.

Without receiving a penalty, there was no draw and AIK won 1-0.

After a goalless first half, the home side took the lead when an 18-year-old served a 36-year-old. Erik Ring increased the visitors lead by volleying off a pass from the right. There was Henok Goitom and he got the ball into goal with a strike.

That was Goitom’s fourth goal in the last five games.

Eighth straight

If the summer was a crisis of great proportions, the autumn of AIK is now exactly the opposite. It was the eighth consecutive league game without a loss and the last time the team lost was at home to Häcken in late August.
