Piteå visited Linköping and chased important points in the background battle on Sunday.
The first half did not offer any goals, and it was 0-0 at halftime. But in the second half there would be goals. But it didn’t start well for Piteå. Sofia Wännerdahl managed to score an own goal and local team Linköping took the lead.
He did not go down to Piteå, because only four minutes later the tie came. Fernanda Da Silva scored the goal that made it 1-1, and that result lasted a long time.
In extra time, the game seemed to end in a draw, but it didn’t happen. Vilma Koivisto, 17, missed in the fourth minute of extra time at 2-1 for Piteå, following cooperation with Linn Vikström, who also jumped into the game.
The decisive goal was Koivistos’ first for the Swedish women’s team, and it was important.
The victory means that Piteå took vital points in the fight for survival. The team now has 22 points and is therefore three points behind Umeå in the relegation zone. Rosengård then waits for Piteå, on Sunday, October 8, starting at 2:00 p.m.
