IFK Gothenburg and a good start to the game have not been synonymous with the last three games.
0-1 against AIK after three minutes.
0-1 against Malmö in the fourth minute.
At home against Örebro, things started even worse. IFK Gothenburg’s defensive play was unimpressive when Nahir Besara made it 1-0 after just over a minute with his 12th goal of the year as Blåvitt didn’t get the ball far.
– We’re not in the sting at all. Instead, we are passive and let in a goal that we shouldn’t make, IFK coach Roland Nilsson tells TT.
Two IFK goals doomed to failure
After the setback, the goal was followed by real pressure from IFK Gothenburg. First, they had a triple shot on goal on an attack without hitting the ball, and when Pontus Wernbloom directed the ball to the corner, it went offside.
Five minutes before the break, Wernbloom found the net again, but again it was offside for IFK Gothenburg who had no margins with them.
In the second half, it was irritating on Örebro when Emil Holm bet big against Kevin Wright, who was forced to leave. Shortly afterwards, ÖSK called for a penalty when André Calisir hooked Rasmus Karjalainen, but the referee acquitted him there as well.
Three points from last place
A goal-seeking IFK Gothenburg had a more difficult time creating clear scoring chances initially in the second half, and came quite a bit closer to a second goal for Örebro.
But the longer the game lasted, the more pressure the home team put on. They hit the crossbar after a corner kick in the 90th minute, but it fell through for Gothenburg and Örebro took all three points.
When Falkenberg beat Djurgården, Falkenberg is now just one point behind IFK Gothenburg. Helsingborg, who is below the line, will face Malmö FF tomorrow. IFK Gothenburg is now just three points behind Kalmar’s last place.
