On Thursday morning, Göteborg Energi started a planned district heating job in Hjällbo, where district heating throughout the area was shut down starting at eight in the morning. At 1:45 p.m. it was recorded as resolved and the tenants would have recovered the heat at 18 on Friday.
In some of them, however, the elements have remained frozen ever since. Abdi Abdullahi, who lives in Hjällbo lillgata in one of Poseidon’s apartments, is one of those who is freezing. It has hot water but no heating since Thursday and is very affected by the cold in the apartment.
– I have a jacket inside and I have to sleep in warm clothes and double duvets, he says and is frustrated because it is not possible to get good information.
For Abdi’s neighbors, it looks a little different, some have warm elements, some don’t.
Blame each other
Abdi has been in contact with both Poseidon and Göteborg energi, who have responded that the responsibility lies with the other party.
When GP calls Poseidon’s emergency number going to Fastighetsjouren, Mohammed answers and says that several tenants called, both from Hjällbo lillgata and adjacent streets.
– We have had technicians who have been troubleshooting since we knew there was a problem, he says, but unfortunately we cannot provide information on what the error may consist of or when it can be resolved.
I understand that this is very difficult for tenants.
Linda Thorsson is a communications manager at Poseidon and when GP reaches out to her on Sunday night, she says she just received information about the problem.
– I understand that this is very difficult for tenants, he says and explains that Poseidon initially doubted that the Gothenburg Energy move would be done so close to the weekend.
However, according to Linda Thorsson, this type of planned work usually works well and the problems that have occurred now should not have arisen.
– Then it may take a while before the system starts up and the elements reheat the apartment, he says, but it’s like everyone else that doesn’t answer why it only works with some.
Works in conjunction with troubleshooting
Problem solving will now continue together with Göteborg Energi to find a solution as soon as possible, something that has been confirmed by Lars Hedendal in the Göteborg Energi press office.
– We have operational personnel in the field who are solving problems. I have spoken to them tonight and they find it strange that some apartments have heat and some do not. It could indicate a fault in the property, but they don’t mean anything for sure at the moment.
And Linda Thorsson promises to leave information to tenants if the problem persists tomorrow.
Abdi Abdullahi is now eager to regain the pressure soon, but at the same time regrets that only when he goes to the media does something happen.
– Unfortunately, this is always the case with Poseidon. We, as tenants, are not listened to or taken seriously. I had never gone to the media before, but this time I didn’t feel like I had a choice, says Abdi.
