Sirius, who is in the fight for European places, received the Kalmar FF jumbo table at Studenternas on Sunday. And there was a lot of Sirius at the start of the match, so the home team would receive a dividend after 17 minutes of play.

Mohammed Saeid finished off the post and on the return leg Axel Björnström stayed ahead and pushed it 1-0 for the home team.

14 minutes later, the home team extended the lead.

Sirius got on the right wing where Stefano Vecchia was able to find Saeid inside the box. Saeid? He could easily, from close range, put the wide band towards the ball and it was 2-0 for the locals.

Kalmar FF made contact just before the half-time whistle when Piotr Johansson reduced from the penalty spot.

Sirius Yukiya Sugita stopped early in the second half for a match goal as he duped most of Kalmar’s defenders before making it 3-1 in the middle. But there was no goal, when referee Kristoffer Karlsson, just before, took a free kick, much to Sugita’s frustration.

Instead of 3-1 for Sirius, Kalmar was able to equalize.

Filip Sachpekidis pounced Geir Andre Herrem into the penalty area and headed in for 2-2.

KFF then sent Romario out in the final stages of the match and Sirius got an advantage. Despite one more man on the pitch, the Uppsala club failed to score a winning goal there, but the match ended 2-2.

The tie means Kalmar beats Falkenberg at the table and thus leaves the jumbo place. Falkenberg plays Djurgården later on Sunday at home. KFF is currently one point behind Helsingborgs IF, who host Malmö FF tomorrow Monday.

Sirius? The team stands at 37 points with four games to play.
