Home test stopped: pressure too high

[ad_1]

A temporary stop for home corona tests has been introduced in the Stockholm region.

The reason for the stop is that the number of people requesting home tests through 1177 has increased so dramatically that a queue of approximately 16,000 samples has formed, announces the Stockholm Region.

– I know that the Karolinska University Laboratory works very hard to increase capacity, says Elda Sparrelid, chief physician of the Stockholm Region, continuing:

– My important advice is to stay home if you have symptoms even if you can’t try right now. When the opportunity arises, it is important to order samples only if you have symptoms or if you are asked to collect samples carefully.

The possibility of a covid-19 home test is expected to open again on Thursday.

– It is important that the test be extended as soon as possible. Testing is an important part of our strategy and we must follow the development of the infection to see what effect our new recommendations have, says Maria Rotzén Östlund, an infection control physician in the Stockholm region.

Driving tests continue

Only home tests ordered through 1177 are affected, the Stockholm Region announces.

Sampling of patients and employees in nursing homes, nursing homes, and through entry units is not affected.

The Stockholm Region warns, however, that there may be a shortage of drive-in hours.
