Degerfors took a somewhat shaky 3-2 win at home against Akropolis, while Halmstad, the strongest team in the series, made it 3-0 against Öster in Växjö.
Saturday’s result means Degerfors’ margin to qualifying Jönköping is eight points with twelve points to play. Also, Degerfors has a better goal difference.
Halmstad also took a firmer grip in one of the two promotion spots and is Degerfors’ heel in the prestigious battle to win the series.
The goals were scored by Mikael Boman, Sadat Karim and Simon Kroon (penalty) against Öster and with 56 points, Halmstad is one behind Degerfors.
Degerfors didn’t make it easy on the soggy court at home in Stora Valla. With 13 minutes played, Oliver Ekroth’s Sebastian Ohlsson fell dramatically outside the penalty area.
For a long time this season, Degerfors has successfully endeavored to play well-groomed passing football, but sometimes a real clean is preferable to a sassy delicacy.
Ohlsson managed to dribble in his own box, turned to goalkeeper Ismael Diawara and Adhavan Rajamohan put out a foot and scored the Acropolis goal.

He didn’t get what he wanted. Midway through the half, Adhavan Rajamohan cut back after another dubious action from Sebastian Ohlsson.
Twisted degerfors, Akropolis took over, had 3-3 chances. At the same time, Granath was close to his second goal when he hit the post and the game turned again in Degerfors’ favor.
With some effort, Degerfors managed to stay within three extremely important points and continued to lead the league with four rounds remaining.
Gif Sundsvall claimed the third victory in the last four games: 4-1 at home to Örgryte. Pontus Engblom’s two goals brought him to 19 in total and extended the lead in the shooting league.
