Comhem and TV4 have yet to agree on a new deal.
As the former expires at midnight, this means that TV4 channels will disappear for Comhem customers.
“If Comhem customers ditch TV4 amid an ongoing global pandemic, viewers will be able to watch the linear TV4 channel for free on TV4 Play, just like on a regular TV,” wrote TV4 communications manager Charlie Forsberg. in a text message to Aftonbladet.
Negotiations between TV and Internet provider Comhem and Telia-owned TV4 are still ongoing. The parties have yet to reach a solution, which means that TV4’s channels will be turned off around midnight for around 2.1 million Comhem customers.
Communications Manager at Comhem Joel ibson, believes that negotiations between the parties were largely completed as early as December.
– We had long discussions with TV4 in December and we finally reached an agreement that we now hope to extend to avoid further turns in this way. But now Telia has come back with a sharp price hike and therefore negotiations have started dragging on, he says.
Temporary solution
In response to the question of what Comhem customers can do if TV4’s channels drop this weekend, the TV4 communications manager responded. Charlie forsberg, in a text message:
“If Comhem customers ditch TV4 in the midst of an ongoing global pandemic, viewers will be able to watch the linear TV4 channel for free on TV4 Play, just like on a regular TV. But we really hope Comhem customers don’t come back. to suffer a fire ”.
The situation appears to remain unchanged according to a text message from Joel Ibson: “Nothing new from us on that front,” he wrote on Friday afternoon.
