At 0820, the police, the rescue service and the ambulance received an alarm on a bridge that gave way and a truck ended up in the water, in the north of Mariannelund. The incident occurred in Bruzaån, next to a bridge in a park.
According to the police, there are two people involved, but it is not clear if either of them was injured.
– I know it should be a truck and two people, but I don’t know if both people were in the truck. It is too early to say now, but a total of two people are involved, says Dennis Johansson Strömberg of the police in the East region.
According to Smålands-Tidningen, a person must have been sitting in the truck after one made it to land.
“They are good under the circumstances, but an ambulance is on the way to examine them,” Sara Tunklev, leader of the SOS incident information team, tells the local newspaper.
Bridge gave way – truck in water
The truck driver is a man in his 25s, but there is no suspicion of a crime, according to police.
The information above states that there is an oil leak from the truck and rescuers are heading to the scene.
– We are there and we assist the rescue service in their work. Then we will see if you can listen to witnesses and those involved to see if there is something criminal behind this, says Johansson Strömberg.
The police have no information on the damage situation at this time.
