The two bodies were found almost exactly one year apart, both in the Norwegian municipality of Kvæfjord but in different directions about a kilometer apart.

– None of them were completely hidden, but they were still partially hidden in such a way that they were not noticed. So it’s no wonder that time has passed before they are found, investigation leader Morten Hole tells Aftenposten.

The latest find was made in early October this year by people with connections to the house where the boy lay. Police say there are many indications that the body has been in hiding for a long time, but cannot specify how long it may have been.

The cause of death was never It clarified before the police closed the investigation into the premature baby that was found in 2019. Later, the police told NRK that it had probably been in hiding for many years and that no crime was suspected. The police have now launched a new preliminary investigation to try to clarify the matter.

– We have investigative work that remains, both technical investigations, analysis and examination of witnesses to be carried out. So we have a lot of work to do before we know what we’re working with, research leader Morten Hole tells NRK.

The two children developed for different periods of time, what was found this year at week 34 and what was found in 2019 at week 30. Therefore, it is excluded that they come from the same pregnancy. It is not possible to determine whether the children were alive or dead at birth, police say.

Police have found the parents, Morten Hole tells NTB. The mother is dead and the police contacted the father last year. Now the police want to get in touch with him again, regarding the latest find.
