The Prime Minister writes in a post on Facebook that they say no to the latest investigation, believing that the proposals negotiated by unions and employers are better.
“Unions and employers are simply in the best position to set the long-term rules of the game in the labor market,” the prime minister wrote.
Annie Lööf of the Center Party writes on Twitter that she thinks the message from the Social Democrats is “good.”

S goes against LO
“The parties’ agreement” refers to the new agreement on employment protection that the Confederation of Swedish Companies and the white-collar cartel PTK agreed to in early October.
However, LO chose to say no to that agreement and the negotiations broke down again.
Several LO unions have harshly criticized the Swedish Business Confederation, calling the deal “a declaration of war” in a debate article in the Arbetet newspaper last week.
The unions of LO Byggnads, Målarna, Transport, Pappers, Fastighet and Seko have also refused to resume negotiations with the Confederation of Swedish Companies.
In his Facebook post today, Stefan Löfven writes: “Of course, we expected a more comprehensive final agreement. But I fully understand that the social partners must now focus on the great negotiation movement that is taking place,” writes Stefan Löfven and continues:
“For me, however, it is important to be clear that the bills that are now going to be drawn up on the basis of the agreement of the parties must be prepared with the aim of receiving the greatest possible support from the social partners.”

Sabuni: “He won’t back down a second”
If there is no agreement between the social partners, the proposal of the latest investigation will become law, according to the January agreement between S, MP, C and L, something that Löfven now opposes.
In an interview with Expressen in early October, the leader of the liberal party Nyamko Sabuni said she will not accept S breaking the deal.
– For now not to swallow this and say now this investigation becomes law. It bothers me. I will not back down for a second, he said then, adding that he does not believe the pandemic is reason enough not to topple the government over Las.
– I am not responsible for Stefan Löfven’s right to power. It’s a pandemic, but elections are taking place around the world. So Sweden can handle it too if it’s about that.
What is Las?
Las, or the Employment Protection Law, is a law that exists to protect the employee. Regulates the conditions of dismissal and employment.
Under the January agreement, the government, the Center Party and the Liberals agreed to modernize labor law and ensure that it adapts to the current labor market.
The new proposal presents new rules of priority in case of dismissal and other employment rules. This is what LO, PTK and the Swedish Business Confederation have had tough negotiations on so far.
