GOTHENBURG. The battle for European seats intensifies.
Then Djurgården changes control over one of them after a goal from 35-year-old birthday boy Haris Radetinac.
– I missed this goal and it was good that it came in such an important match, says Radetinac after 2-0 away against Häcken, the reigning champion’s third consecutive victory.
Five teams to two points after the Malmö FF supreme series. These were the conditions for the pending match between BK Häcken and Djurgårdens IF.
After 0-2 at Bravida Arena, Djurgården connects the grip in second place. No strong grip, but at least 42 clear points grip after 25 contested rounds.
Haris Radetinac “fired” 1-0 with his head already in the eighth minute after a masterful attack: Magnus Eriksson put up a perfect deep lead in defender Elliot Käck’s sacrifice run when Häcken’s Patrik Wålemark cheated with homework .
The target was 35-year-old birthday boy Radetinacs, first at this year’s Allsvenskan.
– Very nice. I saw that “Mange” was playing the ball behind the baseline and that he had to go into the penalty area. The ball arrived perfectly and it was just for heading, Radetinac tells Dplay.
That Djurgården took the lead was not because he dominated the game scene, but because of his individual ability on offense. They adored the home team’s general defense, where Johan Hammar played midfielder when Rasmus Lindgren entered midfield.
Sanctions according to the rule book
In the second penalty area, referee Mohammed Al-Hakim released when Aslak Fonn Witry received the ball in his hand in the 20th minute. Replay footage showed there would have been a penalty for Häcken according to the rule book.
In the stands, Djurgården sports director Bosse yelled “Super-Bosse” Andersson on at least one occasion:
– Good judge!
Overall, Häcken struggled to overcome Djurgården’s defense. The many corners were unsuccessful, even though the long Hammar was in the field. Djurgård’s management stayed at half-time and in the half-time interview Johan Hammar was asked what was missing.
– A little more sharpness in post modes. We have some posts that don’t come out, Hammar said he wanted at least a punishment:
“One hundred percent penalty”
– In which I myself was involved is one hundred percent punishment. Radetinac stood up, says Johan Hammar.
Party hero Haris Radetinac wasn’t so sure:
– I was on my feet a bit, so if it’s enough for a penalty I don’t know, says Radetinac.
In the second half, Häcken’s ball possession increased, but Djurgården continued to defend well in his own half of the field and had sharp changes.
Twenty minutes from time, Gustav Berggren knocked down Fredrik Ulvestad in a corner, referee Al-Hakim shot a penalty for Djurgården and Ulvestad was beaten 2-0, the final score of the match and Djurgården’s third victory in a row.
– This was an important hanging match. Many teams in the same score. Now we win and we are in good shape with five games to go.
Did you save the birthday goal?
– Yes, you can buy yourself a gift somehow, three points.
Eight points to Malmö, is there a chance they will lose it?
– They say the ball is round. There are 15 points to play. We have to make sure we win the remaining five games. We’ll see if we can interrupt them, but there are plenty of points to catch up on.
How are you going to celebrate the rest of the birthday?
– There will now be card games in the hotel.
What are you playing
– It is mixed, but we are caught by a Norwegian game called “American”.
Who usually wins?
– Today I have two victories, so I hope I can continue, says Haris Radertinac.
