Swedish Indycar driver Marcus Ericsson extends his contract with Chip Ganassi Racing. The new contract spans several years, but details will be presented in relation to the preseason for 2021.
– I want to thank Chip (Ganassi) and the entire CGR organization for their faith in me, says Ericsson in a statement on the team’s website.
Last season was Ericsson’s first for Chip Ganassi Racing and the Swede finished in the top ten in nine of the fourteen races he drove, taking him to twelfth place in the overall Indycar series.
– Marcus proved that he belongs here and this season he contributed enormously to the success of our team. Additionally, he was disinterested in his teammates, especially Scott Dixon, who won the championship, CGR CEO Mike Hull tells the website.
– The season that we just finished has been full of potential and I am sure that what we learned together this year will help us to be successful in 2021. I look forward to returning at Honda’s number 8, says Ericsson in the same statement.
