RIGHT NOW: Skånetrafiken warns everyone: change your password!

[ad_1]

On Monday, it was discovered that there had been a data breach against Skånetrafiken’s My Account service, where customers can, for example, register their travel cards.

Skånetrafiken must report the incident to both the Data Inspectorate and the police.

– We take this very seriously and are currently investigating the scope and cause, says Johan Karlberg in a press release.

“Change your passwords”

– I would like to once again urge everyone to change their passwords at regular intervals and not use the same password for several different services.

The intruder has access to Jojo cards registered with travel cash that customers have not yet switched to value codes for Skånetrafiken’s new ticket system.

Then the person has exchanged the value of the cards for value codes to buy tickets.

Skånetrafiken claims that the person who broke in should not have accessed customer payment information or anything like that.

Customers are informed

Skånetrafiken has informed all affected customers by email and has also protected their accounts. It is currently investigating whether more people are affected and how the intrusion has occurred.

A similar intrusion must have taken place on a smaller scale two years ago.

– We will see what measures we can take to make our services even more secure, says Johan Karlberg.

Amounts that have disappeared must be returned to the Jojo card of the affected customers.
