As of October 20, all persons staying in Uppsala County are urged to avoid traveling by public transportation or other public transportation and to avoid physical contact with people other than those who live. Stock Photography.
Starting October 20, new general guidelines apply in crown-affected Uppsala County. Residents should, among other things, avoid riding public transportation or other public transportation.
But Uppsala länstrafik (UL) testifies to the congestion.
123 of UL’s local buses were crowded last week, a third more than the previous week, P4 Uppland reports.
– We would have liked that with all the calls we made to the residents of the city of Uppsala, we had the hope that fewer people would travel by public transport, Helena Klange, press manager of UL, tells radio.
Only in a few weeks will it be possible to assess how well the general guidelines are working, says Anna Gillman, a physician in infection control functions in the region. But he is well aware of the problems of public transport and believes in two possible explanations:
– Or that the population does not heed the call not to take public transport, or that there are many who have to take public transport and that there is no space to reduce it, he tells P4 Uppland.
