The upcoming election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden has caused several newspapers to break the tradition of taking no position.
More recently, the New York Post has published their position. The newspaper wants Trump to be re-elected and urges readers to vote red.
“Elections are always about the economy, but it’s never been more than this year,” writes the NY Post.
The document highlights, among other things, unemployment, taxes and trade deals as crucial questions of why he chooses to support the Republican. At the same time, Joe Biden is being criticized for wanting to increase the country’s debts and phase out the coal and oil industry.
“A Joe Biden administration would seek a socialist left that sees an opportunity to remake the nation in its vision, which would depend on government debt.Write NY Post.
Several newspapers choose page
Last week, the largest newspaper in the United States, USA Today, expressed its support for Joe Biden. It was the second time the newspaper chose the page, after 2016 urging readers not to vote for Trump.
“We hope this is the last time”Wrote the newspaper’s editorial page last Wednesday.
USA Today is not alone either. According to statistics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, about 40 of the top 100 newspapers in the country have expressed some kind of support for Biden. These include The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The Los Angeles Times.
At the same time, four newspapers have expressed open support for Trump. These are the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Colorado Springs Gacette, The Spokesman Review, and now also the New York Post.
With only one week left until the election, the battle for the presidency in the United States intensifies. At the same time, attention is drawn to a mistake Joe Biden made in a television clip. Where it says “George” instead of “Donald Trump.”
