The preschool located in Öster in Örebro will be closed from Tuesday and the week out, the municipality announces in a press release. The decision has been made by the preschool board.
“There is a shortage of staff due to the established covid-19, but also for other reasons,” says Katarina Arkehag, head of administration for preschools and schools in the municipality of Örebro, in a press release.
It also explains that there are more preschoolers under pressure.
“At the moment there is a very strong pressure on the preschools in Örebro due to the further spread of the infection.”
Some are offered childcare
“We will offer child care in another preschool for children who have tutors who participate in socially important activities and children who for physical, mental or other reasons need special support that can only be offered in preschool,” says Katarina Arkehag.
At the end of the week, the municipality will announce to parents who have children in preschool what it will be like next week.
Arkehag does not rule out that it may be relevant to temporarily close more pre-schools in the municipality of Örebro or that the opening hours are limited.
– Closing a preschool like this is the last thing we do, so it’s because we don’t have substitutes or we can bring in other staff. We want a safe environment for our children, Nyheter Örebro tells SVT.
