Örebro had a meeting of players with a high ceiling.

It seems to have been worth it.

At home against Växjö, they rallied and won 4-3 after previously frustrated Rodrigo Abols decided in overtime.

Robin Kovacs told Nerikes Allehanda that the team cleared the air after the 3-7 loss to Färjestad. He said the ceiling was high and they talked loudly about why it turned out the way it did.

Kovacs himself seemed to have listened with both ears.

Last season’s signing profile was goalless before the game against Växjö. But already after four minutes of play, he broke his and the zero of the match when he splashed 1-0 in powerplay.

– You have been waiting for this and it is good that it is published. It was an incredibly good game on our part. A good pass from (Mathias) Bromé and then I try to pinch him right away, says Robin Kovacs on C More.

Late receipt

In the third half, he stepped forward again and fired the 3-2 with a hard wrist shot to the right of the castle. But Växjö had one last chance at numerical superiority with three minutes remaining, and with just one minute remaining, Emil Pettersson scored 3-3 and took the game into extra time.

But despite the late draw, it was Örebro who would win. Rodrigo Abols scored the 4-3 in extra time.

– It felt good. He had one position in the power game and another in the third period, so it was very nice and I’m happy that the team won, he says in C More.

Frustrated at the club

Abols himself was really frustrated early in the game. The Latvian shot the crossbar when he had an open goal in the power play and took the frustration out of his own club in the area.

– The same club scored goals then, so it’s not the clubs that are wrong. No, but they were just emotions. It was a close match and it was important for us to recover, he says.
