Växjö • Robin Kovacs behind the win

Örebro had four consecutive home wins against Växjö and got off to a dream start also on Saturday night when Robin Kovacs scored 1-0 in the fourth minute on a pass from Mathias Bromé.

However, even before the middle of the first period, Växjö had turned in less than two minutes. Robert Rosén and Richard Gynge each scored a goal in the power play and the visiting team took the lead in the second period.

One who, however, had to rejoice was Örebro star Robin Kovacs, who had yet to find the net in any of the eight games he played during the season.

Robin Kovacs scored two goals against Växjö

– You have been waiting for this and it is good that it is published. Incredibly good play from our direct side and a great pass from Bromé. It’s good he came in, says Kovacs at the first break of the period after his first goal.

He also rejoiced even more when he participated in the party’s decision. Mathias Bromé tied in the second half and Kovacs made it 3-2 nine minutes from the end of the game.

Facing a shadowy Viktor Fasth, Kovacs shot 3-2, but was not allowed to become a match hero during regulation time. When Växjö took the goalkeeper out, Emil Pettersson managed to push the 3-3 into the center from close range.

Örebro finally got the extra point after Rodrigo Abols made it 4-3 in extra time, assisted by Robin Kovacs.

Örebro now has 18 points from ten games and Växjö has 16.
