In his autobiography, Runar writes that Carola was unfaithful to him and that he therefore filed for divorce.

Now Carola comments on the book for the first time and offers a completely different version of the relationship.

“That I get up today is a miracle,” writes Carola on Instagram.

– He probably didn’t think he’d leave her. Now I am speculating, but that may be why this bitterness has lived in her for so long. 20 years have passed.

When Runar Sögaard was interviewed on Aftonbladet about his just published autobiography “God gave us ten commandments; I have broken nine of them,” he did not beat around the bush about his ex-wife Carola Häggkvist and accused her, both in the interview and in the book, of having been unfaithful.

“The worst years of my life”

Carola did not want to respond to the accusations in the media. According to her contact with the press, Carola has not read the book either “for deeply personal reasons, since time with him has done so and it still does a lot of damage.”

But in a post on Instagram, Carola now comments on the book.

For more than 10 years, I tried to let go of their control, from August 1987 to January 17, 2000, when I ended up in our common garden in Strömma. The next decade with a son together and a breakup were the worst and most painful years I have ever had in my life. As a mother, a woman and as a human being. That I stand up today is a miracle for me ”, writes Carola in the post, with photos of South Africa where she is currently.

Carola also writes that the best thing there is is time, because “difficult and heavy things” get better with time.

“You understand what ‘book’ I could write …” Carola continues, writing that instead, she was completely focused on being able to survive.

“He let it go. Find freedom and joy again. This is where TIME comes in. And I breathe a sigh of relief. Thanks time. What else comes to mind after this? Just old cupboard food …”.

The post, which ends with the hashtag #nyatider, had time after an hour to get over 3,000 likes.

Aftonbladet has sought out Runar Sögaard, who declined to comment.
