On Saturday morning, parts of Arboga were affected by a major water leak and several homes were left without water.
The municipality later announced on its Facebook page that the leak had been identified and remedied, but that troubleshooting was still underway to investigate whether further leaks had occurred.
The main leak is believed to have occurred under the Stureleden railway tunnel. Susanne Linde lives next door and found out early in the morning that she had no water in the apartment. Then he got out and saw that the walkway and driveway were flooded.
– I was surprised, I had never seen anything like it. There was a total flood and also a car that got stuck in the waters, but the people in the picture must be saved, he says.
“It feels serious”
On the bridge over the tunnel there is a passing railway.
– It feels like a serious situation, the ground and the walkway have sunk like a landslide, says Susanne Linde.
