Corona declines continue to rise in the Nordic region and countries are now preparing for a new corona wave with new, tighter restrictions.

In Denmark, the requirement for mouth protection is extended and the sale of alcohol after 10 pm is prohibited.

In Finland, indoor sweating activities may be prohibited.

The spread of the infection in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland continues to increase and this week the governments of all countries have issued new stricter coronary restrictions.

Here at home came special local councils for Uppsala residents and the government gave nightclubs and their visitors a loud rebuke after recurring reports of congestion and once again banned dance events for more than 50 people.

– It is not enough to run at parties, it is deeply irresponsible and disrespectful, said Mikael Damberg (S), Minister of the Interior during a press conference.

Restaurants can still host concerts and other events, but a maximum of eight people can sit at the same table.

Oral protection requirements in Danish restaurants

The Danes also get new crown bans. As of Monday, the maximum limit for public gatherings is lowered from 50 people to ten, and after 10 p.m. it is forbidden for stores to sell alcohol.

The government also urges the Danes not to include more than 10 people in private.

– We must reject the social, said Mette Frederiksen during a press conference.

As of Wednesday, there is also a requirement for mouth protection in closed public settings such as supermarkets, hospitals and restaurants. In addition, the stricter border control will run until the beginning of January and a travel ban has been introduced to Norway and most Swedish regions.

May limit close contact activities

Even in the neighboring country to the east, which has so far been spared from a major outbreak, the government is concerned about the infection trend.

In areas where infection is increasing, municipalities are encouraged to review restrictions on adults for leisure activities, Hufvudstadsbladet writes.

– This mainly applies to sports in which there is close contact and sweating indoors, but also to driving activities in which there is a risk of droplet infection, says Minister of Science and Culture Annika Saarikko (C) from Hufvudstadsbladet, but it doesn’t explain exactly which activities need to be shut down.

Affected regions should consider limiting the number of participants allowed at public events. In the case of a social expansion, the number of participants should not exceed ten.

As in Sweden, Finns who can work from home are recommended. Universities should “seriously consider” the introduction of distance learning.

Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

Solberg: Efforts for a normal Christmas celebration

Also in Norway, new restrictions have been promised at the national level next week. But exactly what the government has yet to reveal.

– When we now decide to propose extended measures next week, it is because an effort in November and early December provides an opportunity for a normal Christmas celebration with our loved ones. I think it is something that we should all value after this year, Prime Minister Erna Solberg said at a press conference.

In Iceland, the curve has started to turn downward after a peak in early October. In connection with this, most of the sports facilities, bars and nightclubs were closed.

In addition, gatherings of more than 20 people were prohibited.
